Level: Level 1
Adult Participation: No
Class Ratio: 1:4
Class Length: 30 mins
This is the first level in our group swim program for new swimmers starting at age 3. Children build independence in the water, learn foundational safety habits, and practice basic swim techniques like breath control and kicking.
Blows bubbles and fully submerges face in the water
Leans forward, puts face in, and swims 4–5 feet to instructor
Goes underwater confidently and without hesitation
Climbs out of the pool independently with no assistance
Level: Level 2
Adult Participation: No
Class Ratio: 1:4
Class Length: 30 mins
In this level, swimmers build on their confidence and begin swimming independently with greater control. We focus on proper body position, strong kicking, and learning to move efficiently through the water. Swimmers also practice new safety movements that help them feel more capable and in control during every lesson.
Side Kicking: builds balance, body alignment, and breath control
Freestyle Drills: strengthen timing, technique, and proper breathing patterns
Full-Length Freestyle – Swimming independently with controlled breathing
Backstroke Introduction: kicking and arm coordination with body awareness
Streamline Kick: reinforcing strong kicks and proper body position underwater
Performs unassisted rocketship kick to the instructor
Keeps kicks on the surface, maintaining body position throughout
Kicks with straight legs and pointed toes consistently
Swims to instructor using Octopus Arms independently
Comfortable floating on back without support
Level: 3
Adult Participation: Yes
Class Ratio: 1:4
Class Length: 30 minutes
In Level 3, swimmers begin learning freestyle with side breathing while continuing to build water confidence, control, and independence. The focus shifts to full-arm freestyle movements and safe, efficient breathing patterns.
Swimmers also continue key safety drills like independent floating, rolling, and using Octopus Arms to return to the wall or steps. This level is all about increasing stamina, control, and technique in preparation for longer distances.
Independent floating and rolling for safety and body control
Streamline kicking with strong, steady legs
Octopus arms for safe return to the wall or steps
Big arm circles to build freestyle arm movement
Side breathing with big arms to introduce rhythmic breathing
Independent freestyle with big arms and breath attempts
Improved water confidence and self-control
Performs big arm circles with consistent attempts at side breathing
Maintains strong kicks to keep body position throughout the swim
Floats and rolls unassisted for safety and breath control
Performs independent streamline with side breathing every 3 kicks
Level: Level 4
Adult Participation: No
Class Ratio: 1:4
Class Length: 30 mins
In this level, swimmers work toward swimming a full pool length of freestyle with proper side breathing. They’re introduced to side kicking and rotation, learning how to roll for a breath and return to streamline. This skill takes time, but it’s critical for developing strong, efficient freestyle technique.
Swimmers continue practicing float-based safety and drills that support body control, breath timing, and stroke rhythm.
Swim to a Float: practicing control and safety positioning
Intro to Side Kicking: learning to maintain balance and alignment
Side Kicking with Rotation: rolling from stomach to side and back
Catch-Up Drill: building arm timing and breathing awareness
Unassisted Freestyle: full pool with side breathing attempts
Swims freestyle with side breathing every 3 strokes
Completes full pool length with strong, surface-level kicks
Rolls to the side for breath every 3 arm pulls
Swims independent side kick with control and proper body position
Level: Level 5
Adult Participation: No
Class Ratio: 1:4
Class Length: 30 mins
The focus of Level 5 is to refine freestyle technique while building strength, endurance, and confidence in swimming longer distances. Swimmers work on advanced freestyle drills and independent swimming to improve efficiency, timing, and breathing.
This level also introduces backstroke, starting with back kicking and the basics of arm circles to build a strong foundation for the next level.
Flutter Kicking in Streamline: strong, continuous kicks with body alignment
Unassisted Side Kicking: supporting body position and breath control
Freestyle Drills: improving timing, rhythm, and stroke mechanics
Unassisted Freestyle: full pool with proper breathing and clean technique
Intro to Backstroke: kicking and arm circles with body awareness
Swims freestyle confidently with proper side breathing and clean technique
Performs back kicking in streamline with hips up and body on the surface
Level: 6
Adult Participation: Yes
Class Ratio: 1:4
Class Length: 30 minutes
Level 6 introduces and strengthens all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Swimmers continue building endurance while focusing on clean technique across longer distances. Breaststroke and butterfly are introduced gradually, with an emphasis on consistent practice, proper timing, and body control.
This level prepares swimmers to complete multiple laps with solid form, stamina, and stroke confidence.
Swims two continuous laps each of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly
Maintains clean technique and proper form throughout all four strokes
Level: Level 7
Adult Participation: No
Class Ratio: 1:4
Class Length: 30 mins
This level is designed to prepare swimmers for the transition to swim team. The focus is on building endurance, refining technique, and learning foundational team skills. Swimmers practice sculling, IM order, and open turns, while gaining awareness of competition rules like legal finishes and disqualification standards.
By the end of this level, swimmers will be more confident, controlled, and meet-ready.
Stroke Development: refining all four strokes for efficiency and endurance
Competition Underwaters: streamline starts and pullouts per stroke
IM Order: practicing correct sequence: fly, back, breast, free
Sculling: building feel for the water and body control
Level: Level 5
Adult Participation: No
Class Ratio: 1:8
Class Length: 30 mins
